A fridge door turned around for an elderly customer in Sandgate
Fridge-freezer door reversed for an elderly customer in Sandgate: it now opens back against the wall, so reaching inside is much easier. A Folkestone handyman job.

A kitchen that didn't quite fit
In plenty of kitchens, an appliance door and the room around it don't get along. In this one in Sandgate, the fridge-freezer door opened the wrong way for the person using it: an elderly customer who isn't very strong or mobile. Fine for some, awkward for them.
What we did
We reversed the door so it opens from the other side. That meant taking the door off, moving the hinge fittings across to the opposite edge, then rehanging it and checking the seal runs flush all the way round. We then made sure it opens right back against the wall, so reaching inside is much easier.
Why it matters
It's easy to underestimate how much small daily friction adds up. An appliance that's awkward to open is something you meet several times a day. Fixing it costs us very little time, and the benefit lasts for years.
